Logi Options+

From Mac apps, in the HARD wiki · Updated
This article is about the Logi Options+ app for Mac. For every app, see Mac apps.

Logi Options+ is Logitech’s app for customising supported mice, keyboards, webcams and other accessories. It’s made by Logitech, based in Switzerland.

Criminals have used its name in fake downloads or scams, so get it only from logitech.com.

What it is

Logi Options+ changes mouse buttons, keyboard shortcuts, pointer speed and scrolling. It also adjusts supported webcams and lights. Its Flow feature lets people control several computers and copy text, images and files between them.

It asks for Input Monitoring and Accessibility access so scrolling, gestures and shortcuts work. Some screenshot and presentation features need screen recording access. Logitech says it does not collect what you type with its mice, keyboards or touchpads. Optional analytics can include click counts, device settings and app usage.

This is Logitech’s official companion app for supported accessories. Its background processes keep device customisations working. A Logitech account is optional; signing in enables cloud backup of settings. Diagnostic and usage sharing can be switched off in the app.

Who makes it

Logitech is a Swiss public company founded in 1981 that makes computer accessories and related software. Its legal name is Logitech International S.A.. Its website is logitech.com.

Is it the real one?

Every Mac app carries a signature from the developer who made it. Apple checks who the developer is before handing out the certificate, and macOS refuses to open an app whose signature has been tampered with.

HARD hasn’t yet recorded the signature on a real copy of Logi Options+. Its Mac app shows who signed the copy you have.

Its bundle ID, the name macOS knows it by, is com.logi.optionsplus. Download it only from logitech.com, not from an ad or a link someone sends you.

Fakes. In May 2026, Elastic reported criminals distributing Windows installers that bundled Logitech’s signed Logi AI Prompt Builder, then an Options+ feature, with malicious code. The installers delivered the TCLBANKER banking trojan in a campaign targeting Brazil.

What it can see

macOS asks you before an app can use these. You can change them any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
