Finastra data breach settlement
Yes. The Finastra data breach settlement is real: a $3,125,000 class action settlement in the Circuit Court for Broward County, Florida, run by Simpluris. Claims are open until 27 November 2026, on finastradatasettlement.com only.
The administrator lists a claim deadline of 11/27/2026 and a final approval hearing on 12/14/2026 at 10:00 a.m. (by Zoom).
Finastra sells software to banks and lenders, so most people in this settlement never dealt with it directly. If you got the notice, your bank or lender used Finastra.
Is it real?
Yes. The case is Tina Parsley Hughes, et al. v. Finastra Technology, Inc., case number CACE26013154, in the Circuit Court for Broward County, Florida. The court appointed Simpluris to run it, and its only official site is finastradatasettlement.com.
How the real notice reached people. The site's key dates list a Notification Email on 9/18/2026. The notice carries a LoginID and PIN needed for the online claim form; people who can't find them can email the administrator with their full name and mailing address. Class members may also have received an earlier breach letter directly from Finastra. No scam warning is published; the FAQ says not to contact the Court or Clerk.
To tell a real message from a scam:
- The only official site is finastradatasettlement.com.Type it into your browser yourself rather than tapping a link. Claim pages on news and lawyer-advertising sites, and lookalike addresses, are not the administrator.
- Filing costs nothing. No real settlement charges a fee to file a claim or to release a payment. Anyone asking for one is running a scam.
- Nobody needs your passwords. The administrator never asks for your Finastra password, your online banking login or a code texted to you. Payment details go only into the claim form on finastradatasettlement.com.
- Check by phone. If you aren’t sure a message is real, call the administrator on (866) 719-4418, the number on finastradatasettlement.com, not one in the message.
Who qualifies
All living individuals residing in the United States who were sent notice by Finastra that their Private Information may have been impacted in the October 2024 Data Incident. Excludes Finastra's directors, officers and agents, governmental entities, the judge and family and court staff, and anyone who opts out.
It covers people in the United States only. If you live elsewhere, you are not part of it, whatever a message says.
How much
The total settlement is $3,125,000. What each person can claim:
| Benefit | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cash Payment for Documented Losses | up to $2,500.00 | actual, documented out-of-pocket losses from the incident that occurred between October 31, 2024 and November 27, 2026 (for example fraud losses, credit reports and freezes, ID replacement, postage); proof required, self-made notes alone are not enough |
| Pro Rata Cash Payment | equal share of the remaining fund | claimed instead of the documented-loss payment; no proof needed; the site says an estimate will be posted later, none published as of 8 November 2026 |
| Credit monitoring | one year of CyEx Financial Shield Complete | includes $1 million financial fraud insurance and a fraud resolution agent; must be claimed |
An amount marked estimated or pro rata changes with the number of valid claims: more claims, smaller shares. Losses need proof, such as receipts or bank statements.

The breach, and what to do today
In October 2024 a targeted cyberattack on the computer systems of Finastra Technology, Inc., a software and services vendor to banks and lenders, gave access to files containing people's private information. Finastra itself sent the breach notices; the settlement site does not name the banks whose customers were affected.
What was exposed: names; dates of birth; Social Security numbers; financial account numbers.
A settlement pays for what already happened. The data is still out there, so do these now:
- Freeze your credit. In the US it’s free at Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, and no one can open credit in your name while it’s on. Lift it for a day when you apply for credit yourself.
- Get an IRS Identity Protection PIN.It stops anyone filing a tax return in your name with your Social Security number. Request one at irs.gov/ippin.
- Watch your statements.Look for small charges you don’t recognise and report them to your bank. Ask for a new card if a full card number leaked.
- Distrust messages about Finastra and this settlement.Breach data is used to make scam messages personal enough to believe, for years afterwards. Go to the company or the official site yourself.
To see which other breaches your email address is in, search it on Have I Been Pwned, then read Breaches.
Not published yet
The administrator and the court had not published these when HARD checked on 8 November 2026, so this page doesn’t guess:
- How much each person’s cash payment will be. It depends on how many people claim.
- When payments will be sent.
- How many people are in the settlement.
