Uninstall HARD
How to remove HARD for Mac, the browser extension and HARD for iPhone, step by step, and everything they keep, including your HARD codes.
HARD for Mac
- In HARD, open Firewall and DNS. Choose Turn off for the firewall, and Turn off for Secure DNS.
- Quit HARD from the menu bar.
- Move HARD from Applications to the Bin. If macOS asks to remove HARD’s network extension, allow it.
- To remove what HARD learned about your Mac, delete
~/Library/Application Support/HARD/. - To remove the browser link, delete
fyi.hard.mac.jsonfrom theNativeMessagingHostsfolder in each browser’s folder under~/Library/Application Support/.
HARD codes on the Mac are kept in your login keychain. Remove a pair in HARD before uninstalling, or delete it in Keychain Access.
The extension
Open chrome://extensions (or brave://extensions) and choose Remove on HARD. Its settings, its log and its password hashes go with it.
HARD for iPhone
In Settings, set Apps → Messages → Unknown and Spam → SMS Filtering back to none, turn HARD off in Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification, then delete the app. To be sure no HARD code is left on the phone, remove your pairs in the app first.
Uninstalling doesn’t delete your HARD account. To do that, delete your account first.
